Reading in Proverbs in the Bible, I came across this verse again and decided to paint it.
Proverbs 16:24 - Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
In honor of my mother who recently passed away, I’m painting her saddle. Mom bought this saddle with her own money when she was probably a teenager. It is sitting on a stand that my sister made for it. The saddle is popular with children, but they don’t go anywhere, of course.
I really like baskets and have more than I can use, really. Here are some of them including three that were gifts, and my mom let me have the bushel basket last time I was there. The purse with the flowers is from my grandparents after they visited Mexico. It is over 50 years old!
The title for this came before I had any idea what the painting would be.
I wanted a challenge, and I got it when I decided to paint gold apples in a silver dish.
